WordPress is a mature free code project with a huge user base. Getting fediverse integration for comments working smoothly in WordPress would be a coup. In early 2023, Wordpress parent company [Automattic formally adopted the most popular ActivityPub plug-in for Wordpress](https://wordpress.com/blog/2023/03/17/making-the-social-web-a-better-place-activitypub-for-wordpress-joins-the-automattic-family/), hiring its developer [Matthias Pfefferle](https://wedistribute.org/podcast/wordpress-matthias-pfefferle/) as a fulltime employee.
